Peter made a statement that would most definitely bring a curse on him.
Matthew 26:33-34
33 Peter answered and said to Him (Jesus), “Even if all are made to stumble because of You, I will never be made to stumble.”
34 Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you that this night, before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.”
Matthew 26:69-74 shows us that is exactly what he did!
69 Now Peter sat outside in the courtyard. And a servant girl came to him, saying, “You also were with Jesus of Galilee.”
70 But he denied it before them all, saying, “I do not know what you are saying.”
71 And when he had gone out to the gateway, another girl saw him and said to those who were there, “This fellow also was with Jesus of Nazareth.”
72 But again he denied with an oath, “I do not know the Man!” (note, the Word called this an oath)
73 And a little later those who stood by came up and said to Peter, “Surely you also are one of them, for your speech betrays you.”
74 Then he began to curse and swear, saying, “I do not know the Man!” Immediately a rooster crowed. (Peter had spoken curses over himself.)
John 21:15-17 shows us the Lord's method of removing the word curse Peter brought on himself through his denial of the Lord.
15 So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Feed My lambs.”
16 He said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Tend My sheep.”
17 He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep. (He was forgiven, even allowed back in the Lord's service. He denied three times and he testified the opposite, he spoke of his love for the Lord three times which removed the curse. In other words, an oath with the intent to curse was removed by an oath with the intent to bless.)
Adam and Eve not only brought curses on themselves, but because they were the original pair,
all of mankind was cursed as well! Sadly, because they had been given dominion over all things, all of creation including the earth itself was cursed along with them.
Every problem we have today originated from their decision to choose Satan's knowledge and wisdom over God's! They like Peter denied the Lord as Jesus is the embodiment of God's knowledge, the Word,
the Light of mankind. They were therefore cut off from the Lord's knowledge, left in the darkness of Satan's realm and rightfully cursed. This cursed condition has been passed on to all their descendants, which is all the human race before baptism! There is a difference between a curse and eternal judgment. Man was not held accountable by God before the law for his eternal destiny, but the curses of cause and effect very much affected man's daily life.
Genesis 3:14-20 reveals the original curses.
14 So the Lord God said to the serpent: “Because you have done this, you are cursed (Satan is actually a cursed being) more than all cattle, and more than every beast of the field; on your belly you shall go, and you shall eat dust all the days of your life.
15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed (Adam) and her Seed (Christ); he shall bruise your head (through His children), and you shall bruise His heel (through the children of Adam).” (This curse is the warfare described in Ephesians 6 that we feel today.)
16 To the woman He said: “I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; in pain you shall bring forth children; your desire shall be for your husband, and he shall rule over you.” (You can see the manifestation of these curses are still over much of the world today.)
17 Then to Adam He said, “Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’: “Cursed is the ground (this is why the Word tells us the land mourns) for your sake (or because of your sin); In toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life. (As long as Satan's world exists on our planet man will sweat and work to supply his own food, cause and effect.)
(Let's sidetrack and look at Isaiah 24:6
6 Therefore the curse has devoured the earth, and those who dwell in it are desolate. Therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men are left.)
Continuing in Genesis,
18 Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you (there were not any of these before the fall), and you shall eat the herb of the field.
19 In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread till you return to the ground (extreme hard work is a curse!), for out of it you were taken for dust you are, and to dust you shall return (the curse of death).”
20 And Adam called his wife’s name Eve, because she was the mother of all living (and all born from their bloodline inherited these curses).
You can see why the offspring of Adam and Eve were for the most part as rebellious as them! They too were cursed! Like their parents, totally ignoring the will of God, the people of that day even
crossed species, married into God's heavenly citizens, His angels as we see in Genesis six! Mankind was not only further cursed by this, but now altered and inferior as well! Their bodies were not only subject to the curses of sicknesses and disease, but cursed by death also! The Lord was wrathful, became so angry at their disobedience that He was sorry He had even created them!
Genesis 6:6-7
6 And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.
7 So the Lord said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.”
In His wrath
He flooded the entire earth to destroy it and all living on it! Only eight people along with two of each species of creatures were preserved to start over! Were the curses left behind? Sadly mankind messed up yet again! One of Noah's sons performed an act that brought all the curses right through the flood and on to us today!
The good news is, a remedy has been provided for us by the Lord!
Living waters of God's knowledge and wisdom if chosen will turn these curses around just as it did for Peter. Blessings are released as
the Word floods the earth, this time to restore it, to renew it! This flood reveals God's will and makes clear His law to guide man back to His original perfection! That's right, I said the law! He wrote them ahead of time on
man's hearts and minds, and understanding of them is awakened in those that thirst for God's knowledge as the floodwaters of truth reach them. As we can see another widely taught false doctrine is made apparent by the light of God's knowledge! Many have been taught we are not under the law anymore. Not under the Mosaic law for sure, but yes indeed we are still under God's law, His commandments as is all the universe!
Hebrews 10:16 spoke of this.
16 “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days (the days before the cross while the Mosaic law was in place), says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,” (This is New Testament and for all of us today.)
John 14:15 proves He wants them adhered to!
15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments.
Revelation 22:14
14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.
It is a lie that we don't have to
obey His law, it is His will! Remember, Jesus said to pray Your Kingdom come, Your
will be done. When mankind sees and obeys this His Kingdom will manifest through them. Do you see why scripture tells us the knowledge of God, His living waters must totally cover the whole earth as the waters cover the sea? Doctrines like that must be totally washed away so mankind can be brought back to their rightful place in God's universe! We are out of order!
Isaiah 11:9 prophesied of this.
9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain (Mount Sion), for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.
God desires, through restoration of His knowledge, to wash the curses of all mankind away as well! Through knowledge of the cross for instance, we lovingly ask the Lord into our hearts. Choosing Him
reverses the original sin of Adam and Eve for denying Him! Not only is that curse removed, but God's knowledge replaces the curse with the firstborn blessing!
He lovingly gives all mankind the same privilege of being born again, starting over, to have all the curses removed that were brought on us through the sins of our ancestors.
Yes finally, the floodwaters He has held back for the eighth day are loosed! They are being
poured from the fountain on top of spiritual Mount Sion, and dispersed from the tabernacle of David by
His government across the earth! Curses are daily being removed from those turning to God as well as the earth itself being set free as God's knowledge is changing the lifestyle of mankind. Eighth day knowledge is shining light on things innocently done wrong that were nevertheless resulting in curses ruining our daily lives.
Isaiah 44:3 prophesied of this very time!
3 For I (the Lord) will pour water on him who is thirsty (those that thirst for God's knowledge He will see to it they are given drink), and floods on the dry ground (The earth that we have about destroyed through Satan's knowledge, the knowledge of God will bring it back into alignment if obeyed. It too will have its curses lifted and one day again fulfill its original purpose. It was to be a beautiful home for man while supplying all our needs. How blessed would we be without the curse on man to live by toil! And, here is more good news! As we are God's land according to I Corinthians 3:9, we too will be restored as well! He then adds more to that promise); I will pour My Spirit (again, to not only gift our born again spirit with the nature and ability it once had in the garden, but equip it to once again, as in the beginning understand the deeper eighth day knowledge and wisdom of God) on your descendants, and My blessing (the blessings and promises that were made to our forefathers) on your offspring; (and that is us today!)
So, let us dive a little deeper into God's floodwaters at the advice given in Hebrews 6:1-3.
1 Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God,
2 of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
3 And this we will do if God permits.
So the eighth day is a great time to go swimming. You see, unlike waters in the natural realm that get darker and darker the deeper we dive, the
depth of God's living water, the light of His knowledge and wisdom gets brighter and brighter. Also, where in the natural deep waters are murky and cold, God's depth gets clearer and clearer, warmer and warmer as His presence is with us cleaning up our lives, removing the curses and bringing us back in line with His will. God's knowledge therefore brings comfort, peace and harmony, a sense of stability and wellbeing in the midst of this chaotic world!
Isaiah 33:6 prophesied this time.
6 Wisdom and knowledge will be the stability of your times, and the strength of salvation (we need this in this dangerous world we live in!); the fear of the Lord is His treasure.
To better understand let us begin by reading II Peter 3:8.
8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
Now, as Samson ate the honey out of the carcass of the old lion in Judges 14:9, so
God's people gleaned the honey (foundation knowledge) out of the old church. However, before the year 2000 there were just showers of knowledge, rain that revealed nuggets of truth to God's people and exposed a little more of His plan for restoration. The year 2000 was the end of the supernatural first week however! The time from man's creation to the cross was five days, and another two to the year 2000, a total of seven days, and it is now the
morning of the eighth day! The number eight by the way is symbolic of new beginnings! With its dawning, God's fountain has begun to pour forth floodwaters that will forever change earth and all on it! It will bring blessings to those that will submerge their minds and hearts in it and let it wash away the filth carried to our soul man by Satan's black stream. God's waters will drown the intellect that has triggered our mindsets and spawned wrong perceptions bringing on the curses that have been secretly destroying our lives! Remember, the
eighth day knowledge of God guides us back to God's will, teaches us to follow His law, and because of it we will develop a real dislike for the world's polluted waters! Again, the light that reflects from God's waters causes us to clearly see our mistakes, our shortcomings, prompting repentance and we are therefore relieved of the corresponding curses, many of which have been causing mankind's failure since the garden!
Again, we need to do our part though. Let me explain. Christ through His sacrifice made a way for us to be born again, correct? But, we individually have to make that decision to repent and invite the Lord into our hearts. We can then
die to our old man in baptism and come up new creatures to receive the promised firstborn blessing! We have to make that effort though. What I am again trying to say, there is always a cause and effect, good produces good and bad produces bad. Likewise we are blessed or cursed. Satan's knowledge, the world's wisdom,
causes us to walk contrary to God's will and whether we understood this or not the
effect is a
curse! God's waters on the other hand shine a beautiful light on the things we have been doing wrong so we can repent. If we have been born again what was a curse becomes a blessing! But again, it takes action on our part. We must again allow God's floodwaters to wash off
Satan's false doctrines and lies and repent for walking in them! Otherwise we will suffer the consequences of that curse and not understand why. Did you realize poverty, sickness, mental issues etc. are all manifestations of curses!
Like we mentioned before, how many out there have been
taught the lie we are not under the law of God for instance? So how will they know to repent when they break the law? Now the enemy can legally bring a curse on them causing a situation they do not understand how or why it happened! And what about those that were never taught anything about the fact they could even be cursed!
Now here is a another very sad scenario. Everyone that is not baptized is for sure burdened by the curses from Adam on! God spoke of the curses in Deuteronomy 27 and there was no change before Christ! We can see how Jesus gave mankind a way out of those curses however in Galatians 3:13.
Galatians 3:13
13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law (people before the cross were cursed if they broke the Mosaic law without any means of redemption, but those born through Jesus can repent, change and be totally set free!), having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”),
But again, it is not automatic, we still have a part to play, because scripture tells us we all sin and fall short.
Acts 3:19 explains how.
19 Repent therefore and be converted (change), that your sins may be blotted out (curses therefore removed), so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,
Because of Jesus, because of the predestined plan of God for our salvation and restoration,
we can repent, ask for forgiveness and for the removal of the curses. He not only paid for our sins with His life, He took the curses' symptoms, sickness, disease, infirmities and death, all the heartache that resulted from our sins to the grave with Him defeating it all for us! Yes, we therefore come up from the watery grave of baptism blameless, without sin and without curses, but … did we stay that way? Do we wonder why bad and unfair things happen like they do? Are there times we feel like we are just plain cursed? Hummm, we very well may be and not even be aware of it! We may be fooled by Satan's lies or ignorant because of our own lack of love for God's knowledge! Let me share a little more insight with you that may expose how you might have given the enemy a legal right to come against you. The Word repeatedly
tells us to separate from the world and its people and here is why. The world and its systems were formed by Satan's knowledge. His people love his black water and they are therefore vessels that are more than glad to share their knowledge with you and help the enemy spread his knowledge across the earth as the waters cover the sea! You see, it is the sacred stream against the black stream, the
wisdom of Satan against the Word Himself through the world's people, Satan's puppets! As long as we take in man's intellect, drink from the black stream we will be the victim of his curses and again, not know why. So drinking from Satan's water, no matter how sincere the vessel appears to be is deadly for God's people.
If you would like to look over the blessings and the corresponding curses, you will find them listed in Deuteronomy 27 and 28. Another approach is to look at the sermon on the mount found in Matthew chapters 5 through 7. As you read, remember how Jesus changed Peter's destiny. He caused him to speak
an oath that changed the intent of his original oath that allowed a curse to come on him to one of being blessed. It is all about the intent of our words. In the Strongs concordance number 1288 in the Hebrew, the word barak means both blessing and curse. The intent behind the word determines the outcome. Likewise, 7621 the word shbuw`ah translated as oath means both cursing and blessing, again, the intent.
In closing, God's floodwaters are
bringing blessings and life to those that will drink. In Revelation 22:3 we see there is no more curse in the end and in verse 17 we see God's invitation to all His children.
Revelation 22:3, 17
3 And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him.
17 And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.
