RIGHTEOUSNESS OVER CORRUPTION
Did you ever give thought to the fact that a group of people can be in one accord or have the same mind and heart and yet be totally out of the will of God? Yes, there is power when we come together as a people, but the power can come from the enemy just as easily as it can come from God. It depends if we are walking in sin and corruption, or in righteousness. As an example, let us look at Revelation 17:12-13, Daniel 11:23, and Genesis 11:6.
Rev 17:12-13
12 "The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast (Satan through man's government).
13 "These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast.
Dan 11:23
23 "And after the league is made with him he shall act deceitfully, for he shall come up and become strong with a small number of people.
It doesn't take many. They just need to be of one purpose.
Gen 11:6
6 And the LORD said, "Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them.
These are all examples of the wicked being in one accord, and if not defeated or deterred, they can be the victor. God Himself stepped in each time however. Let's look back at Daniel and read verse 45, and chapter 12 verse one.
Dan 11:45
45 "And he (Antichrist) shall plant the tents of his palace between the seas and the glorious holy mountain yet he shall come to his end, and no one will help him.
Dan 12:1
1 "At that time Michael shall stand up, the great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation, even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, every one who is found written in the book.
God sent His angels. Angels were used at Genesis 11 also in verses
Gen 11:6-8
6 And the LORD said, "Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them.
7 "Come, let Us go down (God talking) and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another's speech."
8 So the LORD scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city.
In Revelation the wicked have the audacity to turn on the Lamb. A lot of good it does them. Let us read verse 14.
Rev 17:14
14 "These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful."
We see from the above scripture that these were not righteous. They were out of God's will. They did not walk out truth. In the account of Babel they did things their way and in their own strength. They were building something God had not authorized. In Daniel we saw the Antichrist spirit (Satan) operating through a man (the body of Satan in full stature) being destroyed by the guardians of our Kingdom, Michael and his angels. In Revelation we see the body of Christ and the Lamb (the government of God) defeating this same spirit of Antichrist. Praise God, He gives us the victory! It's truly Christ in us the hope of glory.
Side Note: Does the world treat the righteous unfair? Of course, because the spirit that is against Christ is still in operation.
2 Thess 2:8-12
8 And then the lawless one will be revealed (Satan through his body), whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming (in us).
9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,
10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie,
12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
He will slip quickly into God's people as well if they do not walk in truth and righteousness!
Examples:
Peter -
Matt 16:23
23 But He (Jesus) turned and said to Peter, "Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men."
Ananias -
Acts 5:3
3 But Peter said, "Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself?
Judas -
John 6:70
70 Jesus answered them, "Did I not choose you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil?"
Here is Paul's advice to the saints in Ephesus:
Eph 4:21-27
21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus:
22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts,
23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.
25 Therefore, putting away lying, "Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor," for we are members of one another.
26 "Be angry, and do not sin": do not let the sun go down on your wrath,
27 nor give place to the devil.
Really note, don't give place to the Devil! Look at the advice God gave Cain in Genesis 4: 7.
Gen 4:7
7 "If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is you, but you should rule over it."
We have a tendency to think that because we are Christians that there is no way we can be demonic. Yet the above scriptures tell us different. When people want to do something they know is wrong, they may be able to make people around them think its O.K. or not a big deal, but God is still against it and the Devil is delighted, because at last he is in control. He has been given a place in our heart. Now our bodies are his tent. We make up Satan's palace. He will place us between the sea (the worldly sea of humanity) and the glorious mountain (the government of God) to cause trouble. We at that point become the fulfillment of Daniel 11:45. We still talk about God, appear to be Godly, maybe even claim to love God, His people and truth, but its all a deception.
1 John 3:7-8
7 Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous.
8 He who sins is a son of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He may destroy the works of the devil.
In other words, we break God's commandments, ignore spiritual law, yet we say we love God. However, the fact is, if we really loved God and truth, we would love righteousness. Sure, we have the right to step off the highway of holiness and control our own destiny. We have a will of our own! Just like Eve! We too can choose good and evil, but know this, it's only the righteous that will not see corruption. Only the righteous will be gathered to God in the last harvest.
Much of the church has already been corrupted and God's people, who walk in rebellion and refuse to learn and change will be deceived, believe the lies of the enemy, and be destroyed right along with it. You see, if we are not obedient to the commandment to separate from the lawless, the anointing on those ones will soon corrupt us also.
1 Cor 15:33
33 Do not be deceived: "Evil company corrupts good habits."
Religion or Babylon will begin to look better and better to us, for she allows us to compromise without correction. The true church rebukes, corrects and preaches righteousness. It warns us to separate from evil, and pleads with God's people to come out of the deceiving church before it's too late!
Rev 18:4
4 And I heard another voice from heaven saying, "Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.
Rev 18:8
8 "Therefore her plagues will come in one day-- death and mourning and famine. And she will be utterly burned with fire, for strong is the Lord God who judges her.
Here is what we should want to be.
Rev 19:7-8
7 "Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready."
8 And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.
Did you know that the scepter of the Kingdom is the scepter of righteousness?
Heb 1:8
8 But to the Son He says: "Your throne, 0 God, is forever and ever; a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your Kingdom.
Acceptance into His presence is granted to those that the King hands the scepter to. Look in the mirror. Would He hand the scepter of righteousness to you?
A TREE IS KNOWN BY ITS FRUIT
Why all this talk about righteousness? Because righteousness is the opposite fruit of corruption. Remember what 1 Corinthians 15:51-54 says, and this should be our focus, our hope, and the essence of why we are making this walk.
1 Cor 15:51-54
51 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep (or die), but we shall all be changed-- (our bodies will be restored to perfection)
52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: "Death is swallowed up in victory."
Pick which fruit you want to serve to others. It's up to you. You have a will. Even if you are a person that knows God, but have allowed yourself to be in situations where, like Peter, Ananias and Judas, and the enemy slipped in, there is still hope. We find it prophesied in Isaiah 61, verse 1 and verse 3.
Isa 61:1
1 "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, because the LORD has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor (poor in spirit); he has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives (ones Satan has entered into), and the opening of the prison to those who are bound (set free to be righteous);
Isa 61:3
3 To console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified (trees that produce righteous fruit)."
Jesus ministers this promise through His people today. You can be a tree of righteousness and bear good fruit to prepare yourself and others for 1 Corinthians 15:51. Here is a direct statement on this subject from the Lord.
Matt 12:33
33 "Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad for a tree is known by its fruit.
It's up to you! The enemy is gathering his people with the intent of destroying the Lord's people. His body is partly good and partly evil or corrupt. How can we tell a tree of righteousness from a tree of good and evil? In other words, how can we detect an evil person that does good around us? Look for the fruit in their life. If there is any prolonged sin in a person, or in our self, meaning the sin has been pointed out, but the choice is to continue on in it, we are seeing or producing "bad fruit". This attitude is the fruit of the tree of good and evil.
We can even gather together with like kind, and until God gets ready to step in, exercise the will of Satan against what is righteous and continue on apparently unpunished in our unrighteousness. But, God is still God, and each one of us will stand alone before Him for judgment and give our lame excuses for our sins.
Rom 14:11-12
11 For it is written: "As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God."
12 So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.
How sad this has to happen when the blood of Christ could have made way for our sins to be forgiven. The blood cannot do a thing, however, for our hard-hearted, compromising, clever natures that convince other people around us we are O.K., and we even draw them into our unrighteousness! We deceive them and ourselves into thinking God isn't strict on our area of sin. It's not only called being deceived, but "lukewarm" as well!
Whose mark do we wear? Is it the mark of Satan that results in the fruit of corruption that nourishes, raises and strengthens our love for the kingdom we are now in, or are we marked by God? Have we been separated by Him into groups of His choice that receive truth, walk in it, eat of it until they become the first fruits of God's Kingdom? Hopefully we will choose righteousness and be a part of those in the scripture we read from in Revelation 17:14. Let us be the called (come out of her My people), the chosen (because we are righteous), the faithful (because we are steadfast in our walk with God.) Let us be in one accord with one mind, one heart, one language. In closing, let us be found in the will of God because we have chosen righteousness over corruption.
